The PROS of using an Online Data Backup Service
Hackers, viruses, acts of nature — even a coffee cup is capable of destroying years of your precious data.Much of our life is stored in digital form on a computer so doesn’t it make sense that you’d do almost anything to keep that data safe.
Just for a moment think what would happen if you lost all of your personal photos in a house fire. How about if a thief broke into your house and stole your tax information for the last ten years from a file cabinet in your den?
You know what, unless you are one of the few people who are using a data backup service for their important files and information you’re leaving yourself open to something like this happening any day.
What exactly is Online Data Back?
An online data backup service is a private, secure, and offsite location where you can store your important files and folders online. It synchronizes with your computer and allows you to upload your data over a secure, encrypted connection to a computer used solely for storage and monitored by security professionals 24/7. It’s the online equivalent of keeping your sensitive documents or invaluable family heirlooms in a safe guarded by police.
Some of the most popular online data backup services are Carbonite and Mozy.A Standard Mozy or Carbonite review will let you know that their services are well worth the money. Either will protect your data from dangerous software or hackers, as well as potential break downs or natural disasters.
Why bother using an Online backup Service
For starters you value your privacy. Because you want the peace of mind that comes with knowing that a team of professionals are keeping their watchful eyes on your valuable data. Because you don’t want to take any chances with your personal information.
Recovering data after a crash is very expensive, and usually isn’t successful. And why wait until after your data is lost to try to recover it?Being a responsible PC owner and user requires you to be proactive about avoiding data loss and ensuring that important data is backed up for a rainy day via a proper online backup service.

Another simple online backup solution you should consider is my company’s backup software, Memeo AutoBackup. At Memeo we advocate that our customers do two things when they establish a backup plan: 1. Create a backup on an external hard drive, USB drive, etc. It is a lot easier to retrieve just one file if you have it on an external drive versus trying to download all your files from an online backup. 2. Backup your files and documents online – you never know when something will happen to both your computer and backup hardware. Our software automatically backs up your files both online and to an external drive. You should check out Memeo at http://www.memeo.com.

I backup my files and emails with a very easy to use software called Titan Backup, the destination is a 500gb WD harddisk, but the company stated that an online feature is under work also. Give it a free trial here.
